What I've learned after Asia and Africa project

One thing that I learned about myself when I was doing the project was that I am NOT efficient with my work. I get caught up with doing something else and time ends up being wasted. Another thing I have learned about myself is that I plan pretty well. We ended up having to cancel out a few parts of the project because of time, but other than that we seemed to have done pretty good.  The most challenging part about completing the work was filming, because we had to redo every scene at least once, because we were either forgetting our lines or something was in the way of our view, etc. Another thing that was difficult was meeting up at a place and at a certain time. I am busy every monday, thursday, and saturday, so I can’t meet up with my group. My group is also very busy, so we couldn’t really find the right time to film. But fortunately, we finally found a time to meet up.

What has influenced the settlement of Population centers?

The most interesting thing I learned about the influence of physical features, climate, and natural resources is that people don’t want to live in tropical climate. When I think of tropical climate, I thought of something that people like, instead of dislike, because the word tropical has a positive connotation. On my sketch note, I am most proud of my physical feature section, because it covers the main ideas, and is well drawn. In the physical features section, I also colored nicely and completely.

The most interesting thing I learned about globalization and trade was the fact that it could improve infrastructure of countries. I had some knowledge of what globalization is , but I did not know that it could improve infrastructure. The part of my sketchnote that I am most proud of is the "Why?" part, because anyone can clearly understand what I'm trying to say. I had a little hard time understanding what multinational corporation was, and I have that covered in my sketchnote nicely.

A country's Standard of living...

A country’s standard of living does not show how everyone that country lives, it shows how well off people are. If the standard of living is high, it shows you that people are very well off, but it does not show how everyone in that country lives. It gives the average sanity and wealth of the country, but not everyone lives up to that, so it doesn’t show how everyone in that country lives.  

The most interesting thing that I learned about standard of living was that many countries have low standard of livings compared to other countries. I thought that this was important because everyone deserves the right to have a good life, and if the standard of living in a country is low, then it shows that not everyone in that country has a well-off life. America has a high standard of living, so most of the people there have a well off life, and they can help .

Countries with a high standard of living have a big amount of obligation to help people in other countries with low standard of living, because they have a lot of supplies needed to help the people.  A few countries, though, are very selfish and only care for themselves, so they may not be willing to help other countries with a low standard of living. The U.S.A. is very interested in helping other countries and has many donation groups and organizations to help people in countries all around the world.

Economy in our lives

Economy is the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services. But what’s production? Production is anything that is made or created. So for example, furniture. Furniture is made by people and factories. Another example is movies. When movies are made, you may hear people say, “... produced a movie! It’s one of the biggest hits in the country!” That’s because the producers made the movie, so it’s called production. Production is present in our everyday lives, even if you may think differently. What about distribution? Distribution is to give. But how does that relate to economy? Well, stores are distributors, because they are giving goods to us. Consumption is when we take things in. So how is it related to economy? Well, when some stores give things to us, we are consuming it. Next up, goods and services. Goods are things you can buy from a store, such as a basketball, a glove, carrots, a water bottle, shampoo, soap, etc. Last but not least, services. Services are groups/people/organizations that help you in something. For example, school! So now you know, economy is the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services.
